{"id":30909,"date":"2024-05-24T15:51:54","date_gmt":"2024-05-24T13:51:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.laragon.es\/la-csddd-acaba-de-ser-aprobada-por-el-consejo-europeo\/"},"modified":"2024-05-24T16:03:14","modified_gmt":"2024-05-24T14:03:14","slug":"la-csddd-acaba-de-ser-aprobada-por-el-consejo-europeo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.laragon.es\/en\/la-csddd-acaba-de-ser-aprobada-por-el-consejo-europeo\/","title":{"rendered":"The CSDDD has just been approved by the European Council"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.consilium.europa.eu\/en\/press\/press-releases\/2024\/05\/24\/corporate-sustainability-due-diligence-council-gives-its-final-approval\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The EU Council has just announced the adoption of the Directive<\/a> on corporate sustainability due diligence.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Member States&#8217; approval is the latest step in adopting legislation <strong>to oblige large companies to address their negative impacts on human rights and the environment throughout their value chain, with respect to:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>&#8211; its own operations<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8211; those of its subsidiaries<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8211; those carried out by its partners<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"443\" height=\"335\" src=\"https:\/\/www.laragon.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Imagen2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30905\" style=\"width:393px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.laragon.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Imagen2.png 443w, https:\/\/www.laragon.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Imagen2-300x227.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 443px) 100vw, 443px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p>After an eventful last few months, this vote completes the adoption of this groundbreaking law &#8211; arguably the most important policy development in our space since the adoption of the UN Guiding Principles.<\/p>\n\n<p>The next step is publication in the EU Official Journal in the coming weeks, followed by a two-year deadline for national implementation.<\/p>\n\n<p>It is estimated that more than 5,000 companies will be affected by this new regulation.
